Step-by-Step Terrarium Plan

Since you have your material list you are ready to set up your new garden, you will find this a very simple process? I have listed the steps in order for you, read on if you decided to do this yourself?

  1. Add approximately 1-3 inches of the aquarium gravel, you will find these usually come in 5-pound bags? Depending on the size you choose will determine how many bags you will need, but for the majority of single plant terrariums, one bag will do the job?
  2. What you want to do next is place your metal screening on top of your aquarium pebbles, and this will prevent your potting mix from falling into your pebble drainage base?
  3. Ready now to mix the potting mix with the gardening charcoal in a separate container, you will add approximately one-third of garden charcoal to two-thirds of your potting mix?
  4. Now you will add water to the mixture before adding it to your terrarium.
  5. Once you have done this, you are ready to place the potting mix with garden charcoal on top of the metal screening.
  6. Add your low light terrarium plants by planting them in the soil, if you really want to impress your guests add some decorative pebbles?
  7. Place your new garden in a spot in your home that provides your plants indirect light, so next, I am going to provide you a guide on low light terrarium plants?
